Mrs. Judith Ann Carter, former Guthrie educator, was born in Wright City, Missouri on May 17, 1866. Her mother died shortly after her birth. Her father, Joseph Carter, was extremely strict and raised her and her older sister to work diligently and precisely to his specifications in his rural home.

McIntosh, Muskogee, and Wagoner Counties hosted the all-day event. The counties decorated the Armed Forces Center in their theme of “Red, White, and Blue and OHCE Too!” with tables of flags, sand, stars, candles, ribbons, and more. The Broken Arrow High School ROTC opened the meeting with the presentation of Colors and Flag Folding. The 300-plus OHCE members and guest sang “You’re A Grand Old Flag” and “America the Beautiful.” Retired Brigadier General Tom Mancino served as guest speaker. He gave the history of the military museum established at the Armed Forces Center in 2013.
