Read moreOn Martin Luther King Jr. Day held in Clearview, persons attending the event were asked to bring a donation of items for a person living in an elderly care center. Several attendees dropped off items such as deodorants, face soaps, hand soaps, games, hair products, blankets, house shoes, wash clothes, and money to purchase items. Following the MLK program, the Suggas continued to collect and shop for more items. Last week, the Brown Suggas club delivered the items to elder care centers in Weleetka and Okemah. The residents were very pleased to receive the donations and the club members involved were very excited about giving to those in need. They said this will not be the last opportunity to make donations to someone in need of such donations. Those helping with delivery were Helen Bush, Elayne Evans, Edith Jimboy, and Shirley Nero.

We will re-evaluate the list after 90 days and if the situation remains the same the WHA will extend the application suspension for another 90 days. We regret having to close the application process, but the wait time is about 2 years with the number of applications we have. We will continue to take 3-bedroom applications as the list is short.
