WE REFLECT…. WE REMEMBER

May 21,1938 - December 26, 2023

Ida Mae Zackery was born to Festus and Sarah Slaughter on May 21, 1938, in Weleetka, Oklahoma. She is one of eleven children. Ida attended Rentie Settlement in Pharaoh, Oklahoma and earned her GED from Clearview Public schools.

She accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Lord and Savior and attended the Church of the Living God in Clearview, Oklahoma. Ida enjoyed cooking, listening to her blues, spending time with her siblings, and playing bingo on every day that ends in “y.”

She wore many hats in the medical and dental fields: Personal Care Assistant, Certified Nursing Assistant, Certified Medication Aide, and Dental Technician.

In May of 1955, she met and married the love of her life, Wilbert Zackery Sr.

To this union was born six children.

Ida has always worked and supported Wilbert, her husband of 68 years, in addition to raising seven children. She was a loving wife, a caring mother with a big and compassionate heart for others. She never met a stranger, and never turned anyone away. She fed the hungry and provided shelter and clothing to those in need. She would give her last two dollars.

Ida instilled in her children her love and compassion for others; a drive and determination to work hard to be the best. Look around, you can see that she accomplished her goals. Ida went on to be with the Lord on December 26, 2023, at 9:57pm.
