Ron Claiborne, retired American journalist and correspondent for ABC News, heard there were Black towns in Oklahoma from a Boley resident in California while visiting a story about the famous return of Bruce’s Beach to a Black family in LA County, California. Mr. Claiborne never knew the rich African American history of Oklahoma. He reached out to Larry O’Dell of the Oklahoma History Center who referred him to Shirley Nero of Clearview, who in returned invited him to visit Clearview.
