Seminole State College recently named Crystal Bray as its Nursing Program Director. Bray served as a full-time nursing instructor for the College from 2010-2019. In 2019, she purchased Country Rose, a home décor, jewelry and clothing boutique in Seminole.

Sherry Smith, City Manager and Norma Marshall, Mayor, were also present. Donna Dyer made a motion to approve the minutes of the previous meeting. Richard Roush seconded the motion and the motion carried.

He and his wife Michele, a 1995 Wetumka graduate, have made a life together for 25 years in the military. He has served overseas in Germany, combat tours in Iraq, and numerous stateside assignments. He retires after more than 25 years of federal service. His awards and decorations include the Bronze Star Medal, 1 OLC; Meritorious Service Medal, 3 OLC; Army Commendation Medal, 4 OLC; and the Army Achievement Medal, 6 OLC. At the time of his retirement he served as the Chief, Data Management, Army G-1, Fort Knox, Kentucky. He was presented the Legion of Merit, United States Flag, Certificate of Appreciation from the Commander in Chief, Certificate of Retirement from the Chief of Staff of the Army, Fort Knox Coin, and a Soldier for Life Pin for Meritorious Service from 31 July 2011 to August 2021. After his retirement, CW4 Stafford, his wife Michele, and their two daughters, Cheyenne 16 and Sierra 10, will make their home in Brandenburg, Kentucky. We wish them all the best on their next adventure.

Read moreMrs. Violet Alford Patterson was born near Clearview, Oklahoma in 1927 to Emily and Wesley Alford. She attended Little Hill School before moving to Weleetka, Oklahoma where she attended through eighth grade at Weleetka Dunbar. Dunbar did not have a school for Blacks, so she had to travel to Clearview Douglas High to continue her high school education and graduated in 1946.
