The Hughes County Courthouse housing the County Election Board will close to the public effective 18 th of March 2020 until further notice, after County Commissioner held an emergency meeting Wednesday and voted to close the Hughes County Courthouse to the public in a 3 vote. The emergency meeting was held due to recommendations made this week by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to lim it public gatherings to ten people or less in an effort to control the spread of COVIN-19 (novel coronavirus).
