Stuart Hornets, Lady Hornets Punch Ticket to State

The Stuart Hornets and Lady Hornets both punched their tickets to the OSSAA Class B State Tournaments. The fifth- ranked Lady Hornets (24-10) beat Oilton 8-0 and Earlsboro twice 11-1 & 9-1 to secure their berth at State. The Lady Hornets will play at Devon Park (formerly Hall of Fame) on Thursday, October 9th. The third-ranked Hornets (22-10) beat Boswell 16-2 and Moss 9-1. The Hornets play Thursday, October 9th.

The Chieftains picked up their first win of the year on the road in a shootout with the Savanna Bulldogs. The Chieftains jumped out to a 16-8 lead in the first quarter. The offense scored 24 points in the second quarter to take a commanding 40-25 halftime lead and they expanded the lead to 54-31 by end of third quarter. The Bulldogs rallied in the 4th quarter but the Chieftains held on to secure a 60-54 victory. The offense was impressive with 596 total yards 146 passing and 450 rushing yards. Dwayne Lowe h
