    Wetumka, OK - A family dispute turned violent on January 26, 2024, as Officer Jacob McElroy of the Wetumka Police Department, responded to a distress call at an apartment complex on 8108 D 1217.

    On Saturday, February 17th, Shirley Nero spoke to the Oklahoma County Retired Educators in Putnam City, Oklahoma. She focused on the Black Towns in Oklahoma. She used her experiences of growing up and attending school in Clearview, one of the historically original all-Black towns in Oklahoma.

    Brenda Nails-Alford presented her program of “Continuing the Dream: Equity, Justic, & Social Progress.” Brenda’s parents are survivors of the Tulsa Race Massacre, and she shared their experiences. Brenda is the widow of Romeo Alford of Clearview and the mother of Jordan Alford.
