Wetumka, Oklahoma - The Wetumka City Council conducted a regular meeting on Monday, July 10, 2023, addressing several issues impacting the city’s infrastructure and responding to community concerns.The Meeting Commences with Civic Spirit Mayor Norma Marshall commenced the meeting at 6:30 p.m.

A one hundredand ten-year-old icon came down recently in the town of Dustin. According to the Dustonian Newspaper dated February 15, 1912, the excavating began on the foundation of the old water tower that had graced the entrance to Dustin on Highway 84.

Workers have begun work on the Clearview gym parking lot. Hopefully withing the next week, there will be a new look for the old school grounds. The new Clearview Road is complete except for the new Clearview signs. The town is anxious to show off the new signs.

Joyce Barrett and Peter Bush were elected to new terms as trustees to the Town of Clearview trustee board in June. They were sworn in at the Clearview Trustee Board meeting in June and will serve their four-year terms which will end in the year 2027.

The descendants of the Lawrence and Marguerite French marriage descended on Clearview to hold their reunion in the Clearview gymnasium in July. Members drove in as far away as Memphis and Dallas to join in on the festivities.

In the months of June and July, two families came together for their annual family reunion. It has become a tradition in the town of Clearview for original families from the beginning of the founding of the town to reunite and bring back the traditions their ancestors once shared.
