The Wetumka City Council held a regular meeting on Monday, March 13, 2023, at the Wetumka City Hall. The meeting was called to order by Mayor Norma Marshall at 7:09 p.m., followed by the invocation led by Donna Dyer and the Pledge of Allegiance led by Richard Roush.

Vendors are welcome to sign up for a booth and should contact City Hall (405-452-3153). Those who set up a booth will need to furnish their own tables/chairs.

Former jailer for Hughes County, Ronee Danielle Blaylock has been charged with multiple charges, including sexual battery, after it was discovered she was having an inappropriate relationship with Hughes County Inmate, Ahmad Jacene.

On Martin Luther King Jr. Day held in Clearview, persons attending the event were asked to bring a donation of items for a person living in an elderly care center.

Alsuma was a rural community located between Tulsa and Broken Arrow in Tulsa County, Oklahoma. It was initially named Welcome, Oklahoma, but was renamed Alsuma in 1905 after a U.S. Post Office was opened there.

: The Main Street bridge is out for an extended time until the bridge is replaced. The "Old School Gym" received a grant through REAP to replace the gym and kitchen floors. The work will begin next week.

Mrs. Lola Parker Dean “Difference-Maker” Mrs. Lola Parker Dean, born December 12, 1910, to Sherd and Ribbi (Har - rison) Parker, worked with twelve siblings and parents on a farm east of Porter, Oklahoma where she developed her strong work ethics.

Due to the number of applicants on the Wetumka Housing Authority waiting list, applications for one& two-bedroom units will be suspended for 90 days. We will re-evaluate the list after 90 days and if the situation remains the same the WHA will extend the application suspension for another 90 days.
