The Tribune has learned this past week that Wetumka police officer Tommy Hogue and the City of Wetumka are being sued by the Okmulgee County Criminal Justice Authority.

In last week’s Tribune we identified Zulema Ramirez as a former Wetumka police officer. Her position with the Wetumka Police Department was as a jailer.

An African American, Crawford “Cherokee Bill” Goldsby became one of the most famous outlaws in the history of the Indian Territory. Goldsby was born in Fort Concho, Texas.

On July 31, 2021, the children of Lawrence and Marguerite French met at the Clearview “Old School Gym” Community Center for a gathering of those far and near for their annual family reunion.

This afternoon they hung that young Negro Goldsby boy. I am here to tell you it was a horrible thing to behold. There must have been over a thousand people that came to see him off. It was as a shame, that boy was only twenty year old. Most of the women in the audience were crying.
