CONGRATULATIONS TO JACKSON WALLACE on advancing to the Regional Golf Tournament that will be held next week at Arrowhead. There were tough conditions on the course that day, but he battled through and took one of the six individual spots.

A Holdenville woman was seriously injured in a two-vehicle accident just south of Holdenville Wednesday morning. According to a report from the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, Sybil Griffin, 44, was transported by EMS to Shawnee Hospital, where she was listed in critical condition with multiple injuries.

A petition filed in the District Court of Hughes County alleging two irregularities in the Calvin election has resulted in a court order for a runoff between two candidates, although the candidate filing the petition isn’t one of them.

A regular meeting of the Wetumka City Council was held on Monday, April 12, 2021. Council members present were Donna Dyer and Richard Roush. Josh Howk was absent. Sherry Smith, city manager, Norma Marshall, mayor and Garret Eller, City Attorney were also present.

The “Tulsa Remote” group has now completed their second leg of a fiveleg tour of the all-black towns of Oklahoma. The first leg consisted of Taft, Tullahassee, and Redbird. This second leg consisted of visiting the towns of Summit, Rentiesville, and Vernon.

There will be a Golden Family Reunion planning meeting on May 31 st at 1:00 p.m. at the school pavilion. Memorial Day is approaching. The town is asking those who live out of town to please make your donations early.

HooRay! We had 11 Red Hat Ladies that traveled to Pete’s Place in Krebs, OK to join in an Italian dinner and all the fixings! It was a fun event!! We had one new lady to join us from Lamar. This was our first meeting since December so you can image all the chatter that went on.
