    More than three years ago my sister was diagnosed with terminal cancer. Her struggles were great and many. Her life became a roller coaster of ups and downs too numerous to mention. Because my sister was a realist; she knew “The cancer had won.

    Free COVID-19 Vaccine Event to be Held in Wetumka

    Muscogee (Creek) Nation is offering the Covid vaccine for all citizens both Native and non-native. It will be held Wednesday April 7, at the Wetumka Football field and will begin at 9am and end between 1 and 3 pm depending on how busy they are. They will give the Johnson and Johnson shot.

    The late Herbert and Anna Friend were the founders of our Hughes County Historical Society. Without them it never would have been possible. They were not only my dear friends, but left a real legacy in this county. Herbert akso wrote some great stories about people he interviewed.

    Mrs. Charlotte Louise Jackson Walker was born August 15, 1915 to Clearview, Oklahoma farmers Floyd and Dessie Marina Jackson. At her birth, Clearview was only 13 years old, and the state of Oklahoma was only eight years old. She was the oldest of six sisters and six brothers.
