Seven Red Hat Ladies traveled to Okemah to Pepinos Restaurant on August 8. Joyce Yates called the meeting to Order. Joyce Brinley will be in charge of our mealtime prayer. She also led us in prayer. Joyce led the business in place of Lynn Marquis who was home taking care of her husband.

Sucker Day slated for Sept. 26

Sucker Day will be held September 26th, 2020. We are celebrating the 70th anniversary of Sucker Day with festivities being held once again on Main Street. As of now we are looking at food trucks, vendor booths, a parade and live entertainment.

Wetumka Police Fundraiser

There will be a Police fundraiser at the Wetumka Housing Authority Building on Canadian Street on Friday, September 11, from 11 am to 6 pm (or until they run out!) They will be serving Indian Tacos and a Drink for $6.00 a plate. There will also be free delivery in Wetumka.

1903 – One of Many Dry Good Stores Established in Clearview

Clearview, Indian Territory was established in 1903. During those early years of the town’s history, many grocery and dry good stores popped up along Hattie Street (present day Main Street). One of those stores was belonged to Jeff Horn and his wife Rosanna.
