I have to say this...The act of taking a knee while our flag is unfurled has become glamorous and celebrated. But in reality this act no matter how sincere the protestors are, dishonors and disrespects the men and women who died defending their right to protest.

My Dad and Mom (C.A. {Charlie} and Mattie Sims) ran a grocery store in Holdenville from the early 1930s to the mid 1960s. Before that they lived in Yeager during the 1920s. My three older brothers, Jimmy, Leo and Bill, were all born in Yeager while I was born in Holdenville.

Wetumka lost its second game in a row to a strong Davenport squad 60-14. Jordan Osborn completed 7 of 15 passes for 52 yards. Brandon Rhinehart completed the only pass he threw for a 70-yard touchdown to Alex Freeman. Brandon also had 2 receptions for 30 yards and Logan Melton 1 for 5 yards.

Weleetka Public Schools will have a school wide Distance Learning Day on Friday, Sept. 18. Students will stay home, log on to their Google Classroom and complete homework assigned.
