According to our sources Wetumka City employee Curtis Stafford was arrested while on the job by Hughes County Deputy Kendra Goodwin. Calvin Chief of Police Joe Chitwood was called by Hughes County deputy to bring his drug dog Abel.

After three years of being closed the Weleetka EMS is now back in operation. Area residents are delighted to see the much needed service available again. The service will be available to the eastern half of Okfuskee County and also provides mutual aid to Hughes and Okmulgee County.

HALO held a Pet Photo Contest with citizens sending in photos of their pet.  The winners were determined by how much money they each raised.

We had six players most of the time!  Sharon Dilday and Joyce Brinlee won four games including Sharon shooting it and making it as well as Joyce shooting it and making it! They came ready for bear! Way to go, ladies!! Cindy McDaniel and Lynn Marquis won two games before Lynn had to go.

Pastor Claude Butler of the First Baptist Church is set to retire after more than 50 years in ministry. His last Sunday will be January 19,2020. Butler’s ministry has spanned more than 50 years, and ends where it began; right here in Wetumka.
