27 STUDENTS COMPETE SANTURDAY IN ALL-DISTRICT BAND CONTEST Twenty-seven band students from Holdenville Junior and Senior High Schools will compete with 469 other bandsmen Saturday at Oklahoma Baptist University, Shawnee, for positions in the All-District Bands.

The completion and dedication of the new chapel at the Yeager Cemetery was the realization of a longtime dream. The journey began when Tonya and Billy Weaver approached Pat All-ford and wanted to “do something for the cemetery.

The flower girl is Brooklynn Caldwell, daughter of Cody Caldwell and Tiffany Gilbert is 5 years old. Brooklynn is in Miss Lefwich’s kindergarten class. Her grandparents are John and Dusti Wilkerson, Fob Caldwell, Joe and Shawn Smith. Her activities are dance at SDC.

Voters will go to the polls Tuesday, February 12th for the Special Wetumka School (proposition) and Weleetka School Board Member (unexpired term) Elections, Hughes County Election Board Secretary Brandy Davis said today.

The positions of Ward 1 and Ward 3 Weleetka City Council will be on the ballot April 2, 2019. Ward 1 is currently held by John Pugh and Ward 3 by Tommy Lee. The filing period opens Monday February 4, 2019 at 8:00 a.m. and closes Wednesday, February 6, 2019 at 5:00 p.m.
