Residents of Wetumka found themselves without city water service this week after a critical failure at the city’s lake pumping system caused water levels in the community’s storage towers to drop to dangerously low levels.

Wes Watkins Technology Center extends its sincere appreciation to Don Chesser for 14 years of dedicated service on the Board of Education.Throughout his tenure, Mr. Chesser has played an important role in guiding the district’s growth and success.

Lawrence Neill is a member of the agriculture committee of our Holdenville Chamber of Commerce. For years Lawrence has never been able to make his voice heard. Now Wetumka has done just that very thing—in establishment of a Farmer’s Co-Op.

The Atwood Alumni Reunion will be held June 27th in the Lowell Wilkerson Community Center. The building will open at noon and a potluck dinner will be enjoyed at 5:00 followed by a short business meeting.All former students and residents of the area are invited.

WETUMKA — Oklahoma Farm Bureau’s commitment to agriculture, rural communities and youth development was the focus of a presentation by local Farm Bureau Insurance Agent Jessica Beck during the Wetumka Chamber of Commerce luncheon this week.
