    The Mobile Wellness Unit came to Clearview on November 6, 2024 at the Clearview Community Center to serve the community and surrounding area.They administered flue and Covid-19 vaccine shots to those who came in.

    Freddie Mae Owens Celebrates 88th Birthday

    Freddie Mae Washington Owens was born in Clearview, Oklahoma on November10, 1936 to Fred and Elma Washington. She was the fifth child of six children. Her siblings included George, Aphonso, Edda Jean, Sally Bell, Norma Jean, and Reba Zackery.

    In honor of celebrating Veterans Day, the Town of Clearview honored Otis Davis and Alpheus Grundy, the two oldest military residents. Otis Davis, age 98 years served in the Navy during WWII from 1944 – 1946 in Saipan in the Pacific and Alpheus Grundy, 93 years, served in the U.S.

The Bazaar kicks off the holiday season in Wewoka and fills the museum with the Spirit of Christmas as the aroma of freshly made baked goods and sweets fills the air, lively carols and Christmas tunes ring throughout the building, and people crowd the galleries seeking perfect gifts to put under their trees, or that “just what I need” buy for themselves.

    Wetumka Fire Department Responds to Tank Battery Explosion

    On 11-4-2024 Meadowbrook Oil Company called Hughes County 911 to report an oil tank battery fire. Severe storms in the area caused lightning to strike the oil storage tanks at the oil well known as the Eastep #1. The lightning strike caused the steel tank to explode and burst into flames.
