Chieftains defeat Outlaws in annual rivalry

WETUMKA 8-1 YALE 1ST ROUND OF PLAYOFFS 7:30 Wetumka defeated Weleetka last Thursday night 42-34 in the age old rivalry. The locals will face Ryan at home Friday night. Game time 7:30.Alex Allford had an incredible evening carrying the ball 22 times for and scoring three touchdowns.

The Graham-Dustin Chieftains will travel to Wesleyans Christian Friday night for the opening round of play- offs. The locals just finished a very successful season winning seven and losing three.They lost their last regular season game to Thackerville in a hard-fought game 66-38.

The Moss Lady Pirates raced past the Mason Lady Eagles in their season opener 45-30. Leadin scorer for Moss was Gracelyn Wulf with 19 points, followed by Harlee Nolen with 15.Whittany Spangler added 5 followed by Ava O’Kelley, Gracie Provence and Willow VanHaren with 2 points each.

OU vs KENT STATE - SEPT 10 After a slow start the Sooners offense came alive in the second half scoring 24 points in the 3rd quarter. Oklahoma recorded 14 tackles for loss. The Golden Flashes’ three points were the fewest OU allowed to an FBS team since 2017.

Thursday night the Wetumka Chieftains found themselves in a victorious win over the Strother Yellowjackets. The 2nd district contest for the Chieftains proved that in Wetumka football means business.
