Murder Charges Filed in 2019 Hughes County Overdose Death

Attorney General John O’Connor filed first-degree murder charges against an alleged drug dealer in the 2019 overdose death of an Oklahoma woman. Macee Grabber was just 24 years old when she was found dead of an apparent drug overdose at her family’s home. Hughes County Sheriff’s department deputies collected drug paraphernalia from the scene which was then delivered to Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics (OBN) agents who submitted it to the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation (OSBI) for testing. The testing of the paraphernalia detected the presence of both methamphetamines and heroin.

Marvin Delbert Fulton of Gerty, Oklahoma passed away October 16, 2022 at home in Gerty at the age of 82. Marvin was born Dec ember 3, 1940 in Parker, Oklahoma to James Fulton and Willie Mae (Cooper) Fulton. Marvin attended Parker Public School. Marvin married Patsy Lou Brothers February 4, 1967 in Atoka, Oklahoma. Marvin worked at Calvin Pickle Co. and was a farmer and rancher most of his life. Marvin farmed peanuts and raised cattle. Marvin loved fishing, hunting, playing guitar, playing dominoes, visiting with friends and most of all loved planting a big garden trying to raise the biggest and best watermelon and cantaloupes.

“SPOILED CHILD = SELF-CENTERED ADULT LATER”

Growing up in a large family, with very little income, usually doesn’t create a kid who is spoiled by having all the finer things in life. In fact, sometimes it can mean that a child lives without having some of the physical essentials of living – food, water and shelter. Growing up in poverty certainly creates a distinct outlook on life. An adult who lived that way as a child doesn’t take having those essentials for granted. He will work to provide them for himself (unless that adult simply decides “I can’t provide for myself, therefore I won’t really try.”) But that point is not the focus today. Today it’s the opposite - the kid who is indulged with everything he could possibly want. And there are several negative sides to that. Self-centeredness, difficulty accepting they must work, instant self-gratification issues, dissatisfaction with what they have, and lack of empathy for those with less, are some real possibilities.
