Beatrice June Allford passed away August 1, 2019, in Stillwater, Oklahoma.  She recently celebrated her 70th wedding anniversary on May 22nd and her 93rd birthday on June 1st .

June was born in Watchorn, Oklahoma, to W.O. and Mildred Atwell but grew up in Okemah, Oklahoma. She is preceded in death by her parents and her siblings Mildred “Millie” Portoluri, Cora Atwell, William “Bill” Atwell, Kenneth Atwell and her beloved little sister, Betty Coffey.

June is survived by her devoted husband, John M. Allford Jr., better known to his friends and relatives as “Jim”; son, John M. Allford III and wife Nancy, of Stillwater, and their family, daughter Suzanne Allford Wade and husband Dick of San Antonio, Texas, and their family granddaughter Ashley Allford Bragg and husband Tim, their daughter Scout and sons Hayes, Archer and Ford (June’s precious great-grandsons), who recently moved to Stillwater.  June is also survived by her brother Don Atwell and Sally, along with numerous nieces and nephews and their families

June was known for many things.  She was first and foremost a great cook and a wonderful baker.  Her chocolate cakes were always the first to be bought at any bake sale.  She enjoyed showing her love to others through her cooking.  She was also a very talented gardener and a member of the Holdenville Garden Club for many years.  But most of all, she was a positive and encouraging wife, mother, grandmother, and friend to all.  No matter what the circumstances, she would always say “it’ll be okay,” and it always was.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, August 6th , at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel at the Holdenville Cemetery.  Greg Amen, Pastor of the Wewoka Presbyterian Church, which June and Jim attended, officiated.

In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made to either of June’s favorite charities, Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation or St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, or any charity of choice.

Hudson-Phillips Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
