Betty Jo Gentry passed away Saturday, May 9, 2020, at Eastgate Village in Muskogee, Oklahoma at the age of 91.

Betty was born February 14, 1929 in Bennington, Oklahoma to James Bird and Eula Hall. She worked at Seamprufe, Lillian Russell, and was self-employed. She married Clifford Gentry in Paris, Texas in 1947 and the couple moved to Holdenville in 1954. Betty enjoyed quilting and her church.

Betty is preceded in death by her husband of sixty-one years, Clifford Desmond Gentry, two siblings and one grandson.

She is survived by three children, Lavonia Deel and husband Wilson of Wagoner, Oklahoma, Gary Gentry of Holdenville, and Lagenia Krumme and husband, Paul of Wagoner; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Bonnie Griffin of Texas and Dorothy Droke of Ft. Worth, Texas; and two brothers, Ray Bird of Divide, Colorado, and Rex Bird of Oklahoma City.

Graveside service will be 1:00 pm Thursday May 14th , in the Holdenville Cemetery, with Pastor Johnny Derouen officiating.

Pallbearers are Jacob Perez, Paul Krumme, David Gentry, Alex Deel, James Perez, and Gary Gentry Jr. Honorary pallbearer is Wilson Deel.

Services are under the direction of Hudson-Phillips Funeral Home in Holdenville, Oklahoma.

COVID-19 regulations will be observed. In Phase 2 the Governor will allow groups of 50 or fewer for funeral, weddings, church services, chapel services, graveside services or other larger gatherings with social distancing.
