Betty Ruth Johnson passed away Thursday, September 7, 2023, at Heritage Village Nursing Center in Holdenville, Oklahoma at the age of 84.

Betty was born December 7, 1938, inTupelo, Oklahoma to Dee Iverson Hyatt and Ruth Aline Cannon Hyatt. She graduated from Tupelo High School in 1957. Betty attended East Central University and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Home Economics with a minor in Elementary Education. She married Floyd Wayne Johnson on August 6, 1960, at the First Baptist Church in Tupelo. She was active in Holdenville Mothers Club and dedicated member of the First Baptist Church in Holdenville where she was a member for almost 60 years. She retired from teaching in 1995 and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, cooking, shopping, going on family vacations, and watching the Sooners and Wolverines.

Betty is preceded in death by her husband, her parents and a brother, Bobby Dee Hyatt.

Survivors include her children, Phil Johnson of Norman, Jill Porter and husband Sid of Moore, Amy Morrison and husband Donnie of Wetumka, and Beth Black and husband Josh of Holdenville; grandchildren T.J. Morrison, Addison Hall, Mikayla Morrison, Maci Bowlin and husband Aaron, Hunter Morrison, Bailee Black, Bo Black,andBrayden Black; greatg randchildren Ellie and Raider; and numerous other relatives and friends.

A celebration of life ceremony will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Wednesday, September 13, 2023, at First Baptist Church, 9th and Broadway, Holdenville, with Pastors Danny Frazee and James Poulain officiating.

Interment will be at Holdenville Cemetery.

Services provided by Hudson-Phillips Funeral Home, Holdenville, Oklahoma.
