Bobbie Jean Lucas passed away Wednesday, January 13, 2021, at her home in Spaulding, Oklahoma. Bobbie was born August 31, 1930, in Skellytown, Texas to Noah and Robbie Cornutt. Bobbie was raised by her Aunt Hazel whom she extremely adored.

Bobbie attended Dumas Texas High School where she graduated in 1948. Bobbie got the restaurant business in her blood early in life. She was usually at the cafe her Aunt Hazel owned during her younger years and by her young teens Bobbie was a fullfledged employee. Sometime in 1948 Bobbie became smitten with a young handsome oilfield worker from Oklahoma. Johnnie Lucas and Bobbie were married on December 7, 1948. After moving back and forth between Oklahoma and Texas, the couple made their home in Oklahoma.

Bobbie worked at Seamprufe for a short stint, but her true calling was in the food business. She opened the Holdenville Bus Station Cafe on Main Street in 1968. After two years at the Bus Station, Bobbie moved to the Queen Bee on Hinckley. Bobbie’s Restaurant was opened in 1974. Many memories were made in Bobbie’s Restaurant for Bobbie, her family, her friends and her customers. The Restaurant was opened 40 years closing on January 2, 2015. During the 40 years, Bobbie Lucas never met a stranger. She was kind and soft-spoken. Many people were given a helping hand while Bobbie’s Restaurant was open. After retirement, she loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Bobbie was preceded in death by her husband Johnnie, Aunt Hazel, Linda Gulane her half-sister, and Rena Pitts, honorary family member.

Bobbie is survived by three sons, Andy Lucas of Holdenville, Randy Lucas and wife Pam of Harrah, and Danny Lucas and wife Debbie of Holdenville; Barbara Pitts of Holdenville, honorary family member; half-brother, Raymond Lillie and wife Carolyn of Kentucky; and Tomaletta Snyder, special friend of the family. She also leaves her grandchildren, Kelly Davenport and husband Chris of Tulsa, Randee Lucas Wood and husband Ryan of Austin, Deric Lucas of Holdenville, Cody Lucas and wife Krystin of Oklahoma City, and Cady Lucas and JD Conley of Holdenville; her great-grandchildren, Taylor Davenport, Cohen Davenport, Ryan Lucas Wood “Luke”, Bella Kay Conley, Charlotte Joan Wood “Charlee”, Cooper Joe Lucas, and Katee Jean Wood. Bobbie is survived by numerous other family members and friends.

Graveside service was 3:00 pm Tuesday, January 19 th , at Holdenville Cemetery in Holdenville, OK with Bill Robinson officiating. Honorary pallbearers were Kenny Snyder, Dean Goforth, Gary Stillwell, Donny McCarn, Joe Grizzle, Roger O’Neal, John Giles and Pat Wilkerson.

Services are under the direction of Hudson-Phillips Funeral Home, Holdenville, Oklahoma.
