Carl Eugene Pinion passed away on Sunday, August 29, 2021, at his home in Holdenville, Oklahoma at the age of 83. Carl was born July 30, 1938 in Holdenville, Oklahoma to Arthur Pinion and Frankie Marie Pinion. Carl graduated from Spaulding High School in 1957. He attended East Central University.

Carl married the love of his life, LaVerne Hearn, on August 10, 1959 in Wewoka, Oklahoma. They owned and operated Kerr McGee gas station and the Dairy Land drive-in in Holdenville. He also worked many years in the oil field and later retired from the McAlester Army Ammunition Plant. Carl enjoyed camping, fishing, watching Oklahoma Sooner Football, playing dominoes, watching westerns, Fox News and enjoyed visiting with his family.

Carl is preceded in death by his parents; one son Keith Eugene Pinion; and brothers Joel Pinion and Larry Cofer.

Carl is survived by his wife, LaVerne, of the home; his children Kevin Pinion and wife Marcia of Holdenville, Karla Skiles and husband Troy of Okmulgee, and Kimberly Carr and husband Richard of Holdenville; seven grandchildren, Michael Dylan Ramsey and wife Jill, Clint Pinion, Shelby Campbell and husband James, Heather Pinion, Katie Pinion, Ross Turner, and Sara Pinion; one great-grandchild, Cash Pinion; numerous nieces, nephews and many dear friends; and his grand dog Rowdy.

Viewing will be 9:00 AM-7:00 PM Thursday, September 2 nd , at Hudson Phillips Funeral Home.

Funeral service will be 10:30 AM Friday, September 3 rd , at Hudson Phillips Funeral Home Chapel, Holdenville with Kevin Hardeman officiating and Nathan Cross assisting. Interment will follow at Glory Cemetery.

Pallbearers are Michael Dylan Ramsey, Clint Pinion, Ross Turner, James Campbell, Jed Neal, Austin Baca and Hank Neal.

Services are under the direction of Hudson-Phillips Funeral Home, Holdenville, Oklahoma.
