Carl Quyne Lambert passed away in Oklahoma City on Monday, June 19, 2023, at the age of 84 years.

Carl, who was known by his family and friends as Sonny, was the son of Claude and Stella (Moore) Lambert, born on September 14, 1938, in Connerville, Oklahoma. He was brought up and attended schools in Oklahoma and California, as the family made numerous trips back and forth between the two states. Carl met his wife Edith in California. They were married for 62 years. They returned to Oklahoma in 1966 where together they raised their four children. Carl was known for always having a smile. He was a hardworking man who loved and provided for his family. Carl retired from the Norman Public School system where he worked as a bus driver and mechanic. Carl loved gardening and ranching. After retiring, he was able to live out his dream of owning his own ranch in Holdenville, Oklahoma.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Claude and Stella Lambert; his wife, Edith Jolene (Wood) Lambert; siblings Ruey, Trixie, Freda, Geraldine, Ruby, Johnny Lambert, J. B. Lambert, Roy Lambert, Nelda Brown, Milburn Hubbard, Dorothy Jones, Gladys Wasson, Christine Chris, Joe Lambert, and Betty Marxman; and one great grandson, Russell Carl Lambert.

Carl is survived by daughters Judy Mason and husband Jack of Oklahoma City, Althea Shoestock of Galveston, Texas, and Darla May and husband Gary of Holdenville; one son, Russell Lambert of Norman; grandchildren, Kimberly, Judina , Jacqueline, Jillian, Michael Da'Re, Michael John, Mathew, Cesaley, Amber, Zachary, Trevor, Triston, Danielle, Dustin, and Thomas; 18 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and sister Wanda Stevens.

Carl is survived by daughters Judy Mason and husband Jack of Oklahoma City, Althea Shoestock of Galveston, Texas, and Darla May and husband Gary of Holdenville; one son, Russell Lambert of Norman; grandchildren Kimberly, Judina, Jacqueline, Jillian, Michael Da'Re, Michael John, Mathew, Cesaley, Amber, Zachary, Trevor, Triston, Danielle, Dustin, and Thomas; along with 18 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

Viewing will be 1:00 PM7:00 PM Thursday, June 22 nd, and 9:00 AM-7:00 PM Friday, June 23rd, at Hudson-Phillips Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Saturday, July 15 th , at Hudson Phillips Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at the Yeager Cemetery.

Services are under the direction of Hudson-Phillips Funeral Home in Holdenville, Oklahoma.
