Carolyn Loyless

Carolyn Ruth Loyless passed peacefully from this life on Friday, February 26, 2021, at the age of 75. Carolyn was a native of Calvin, born to Bill and Ruth Boyce on August 19, 1945.

Carolyn spent her youth exploring the farm and riding horses. She graduated from Calvin High School in 1963, and after completing her teaching degree at OSU, she went on to receive her Master’s degree in Education from Georgia State University.

Carolyn was a caring and dedicated educator, who touched the lives of many children as a Special Education teacher and School Psychologist. She met and married her husband James Loyless in Houston, Texas and lived throughout the Gulf Coast and South while raising their three children. Upon returning to the family farm in Calvin during her retirement, Carolyn spent her days with her children, grandchildren, horses, and dogs. She was an extremely kind and generous person who loved animals and helping others, riding horses, cooking, traveling, reading, and playing the piano.

Carolyn is survived by her children Jeffrey, Joseph, and Jennifer; and five grandchildren, Amber, Caitlyn, James, Josephine, and Evelyn. She will be forever loved and missed by her family, friends, and all who knew her.

Memorial services are being held at a later date under the direction of Hudson-Phillips Funeral Home in Holdenville, Oklahoma.
