Carolyn Sue Slater
Carolyn Sue Slater passed away December 5, 2019 at St Anthony’s Hospital in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma at the age of 79.
Sue was born July 15, 1940 in Holdenville, Oklahoma to James Myers and Lula Faye Roberts Myers. Sue graduated from Moss public school. She attended Cosmetology School in Ada, Oklahoma.
Sue married John Earl Slater January 13, 1961. She was a homemaker. Sue never met a stranger and she loved her family, grandkids, great-grandkids, shopping, and spending time at the Lamar Senior Citizens Center playing Dominoes.
Sue is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and niece Laura Gaines.
She is survived by her children, Shelley Wimberly and husband Mike of Tulsa, John Cody Slater and wife Fohnta of Horntown, and Stacey Moore and husband William of Tulsa; grandchildren, Shannan Porter and husband Kenneth, Justin Wimberly and wife Kirsty, Bonnie Arnett and husband Anthony, Johnny Wimberly and wife Alicia, Hannah Wimberly, Kristen Moore, Destiny Slater, Chesley Slater, and John Cole Slater; great-grandchildren Jude Sanchez, Rosalyn Collier, Katherine Arnett, Gunnar Arnett, Kennedy Arnett, Kamryn Arnett, Emma Porter, and Elizabeth Wimberly; sister Wanda Faye Chancellor of Horntown; and lifetime best friend Laverne Rogers. Sue is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral service was 2:00 PM Tuesday, December 10th , at the First Baptist Church in Holdenville with Pastor Ron Chas-tine officiating. Interment followed at Holdenville Cemetery.
Services were under the direction of Hudson-Phillips Funeral Home Holdenville, Oklahoma.
