Celebrating the Life of Mary L. Graham

Mary Louise Graham was born August 29, 1929 to W. R. Grundy Sr. and LaVania Edwards. She was the third of eleven children born to this union. At an early age, Mary was baptized and accepted Christ into her life. She attended many churches throughout her years. But made a home at House of Deliverance Pentecost Church of Jesus Christ. Mary had two great loves in her life, that was cooking and taking care of children. Mary would prepare big elaborate meals every Christmas for her extended family so that they could stay connected and fellowship. She was also an employee of the American Restaurant for 20 years with a dish famously called “Ms. Mary’s Greens.” The latter part of May’s life was spent doing her second love, which was taking care of children. Mary worked at many childcare centers in the Spencer, Midwest City area and loved every minute of it. She is preceded in death by her husband LeAnder Graham, Oklahoma City; father and mother W. R. and LaVania Grundy of Spencer, Oklahoma; brother, W. R. Grundy Jr., Tulsa, Oklahoma; sister, Doris Jordan, Tulsa, Oklahoma; brother, Robert Grundy, Clearview; brother, Timothy Grundy, Spencer, Oklahoma; sister, Charlesetta Bostic, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; bother, Anthony Grundy, Spencer, Oklahoma; and one niece, Peretha Grundy, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Mary leaves to cherish and love her memories, her son, LeAnder Graham Jr, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; daughter, LaShonda Fayne-Williams (Seneca), Midwest City, Oklahoma. She also leaves behind two grandchildren, Pria A. L. Fayne and Sanai I. Williams, Midwest City, Oklahoma; one brother, Alpheus Grundy (Doretha). Clearview, Oklahoma; and one sister, Betty Robinson, Spencer, Oklahoma; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Services for Mary L. Graham were held Friday, September 13, 2019 at 10:30 a.m. at Earl M. Temple Memorial Chapel at Temple & Sons Funeral Home in Oklahoma City with Elder Harold Lewis officiating.
