Chad Dakota Dilday

Posted in:

Chad Dakota Dilday (his family called him “Gump”) was born May 29, 1992 in Tecumseh, Oklahoma to Tracie Long and Clifford Dean Dilday and passed from this life April 15, 2022 near Wetumka at the age of 29.

Chad was raised in Dustin and Wetumka and was a graduate of Dustin High School. As a young man he went to work in the pipeline industry where he remained for several years. He eventually became a heavy equipment operator for the company and was able to run about any piece of equipment they had. He later became a welder and had most recently worked as a shop welder for Lamberts Farm and Ranch in Holdenville.

On July 4, 2010 he married Tabitha Weaver and to this union a daughter, Alexandria Dawn (Lexi) was born.

Chad was an avid coon hunter, sometimes getting in at 2 or 3 o’clock in the morning only to be back up at 7 am to go to work! He loved to listen to the baying of his hounds. He also enjoyed other types of hunting and was occasionally found fishing as well. But one of his favorite pastimes was driving down back roads with his daughter Lexi where they would sing to the top of their voices!

He was preceded in death by a brother Alexander Morgan, a cousin Billy Dilday, and his Pawpaw, Bill Dilday.

Survivors include: a daughter Alexandria Dawn (Lexi) Dilday of the home; his mother Tracie Long and stepfather Steven Caldwell of Wetumka; his father Clifford Dean Dilday of Geary; his girlfriend Heather Spradlin of Wetumka (who he had loved since elementary school!) a sister Ashley Slape of Muskogee; Paternal grandmother Verna Dilday of Wetumka; maternal grandparents Wayne and Joyce Long of Okemah; his special nieces and nephews, Dakota, Brooklyn, Emmalyn, Jaxon, and Jasely; Aunts and uncles, Donnie and Debbie Long, Ranae Long, Roy and Pam Miller, David and Russ Dilday, Gayle and Tina Dilday, and a special aunt and uncle Betty and Curtis Leftwich; special cousins, Whitney Fixico and Brad Leftwich; along with other relatives and many friends.

Funeral services will be held Friday, April 22 at 2:00 p.m. at the Wetumka Assembly of God Church with Rev. Curt Ballinger, pastor, officiating and will be assisted by Curt Krigbaum. Pallbearers will be Darren Branum, Brad Leftwich, Jeffery Long, Jason Lambert, Tristan Smith, and Devin Gore.
