Cynthia Loria Ann Schuler passed away at her home in Lawton, Oklahoma on Tuesday, June 1, 2021, at the age of 62 years.

Cynthia was the daughter of Calvin Hurd Sr. & Juanita (Moore) Hurd, born on September 24, 1958, in Holdenville, Oklahoma. She was brought up and attended schools in Lawton, and graduated Eisenhower (Lawton IKE) in 1974. She was married to Philip Schuler in 1998; he preceded her in death on January 8, 2014, after twenty-six years together. Cynthia lived in Lawton most of her life and worked for twenty-two years for Goodyear Tire, until health issues forced her to retire.

Cynthia was baptized as a young girl at Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Holdenville. She later attended Lawton First Assembly Church of God in Christ. She loved singing in the choir. Some of her favorite things were fishing, quilting, landscaping, and working in her yard and garden. She was a member of a bowling league and very much enjoyed bowling.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Calvin Hurd Sr. and Juanita John son, and her husband, Philip Schuler.

She is survived by two children, Camitra Watson and Daneil Goynes, both of Lawton; one stepdaughter, Tiffany Schuler of Texas; five grandchildren: Ja’Kitra C. Watson, T’Jarrah S. Goynes, Cyndraya R. Goynes, Aviana J. Goynes, and Jathan W. Dodson; one sister, Carmella Hardy (Glendell Lawrence) of Lawton, and one brother, Calvin Hurd Jr. of Norman; two aunts, Roxie Boyd of Holdenville and Redell Jones of Oklahoma City; one uncle, Napoleon Moore of Oklahoma City; nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends.

Graveside services were held, and Cynthia was laid to rest at Thomas Town Cemetery in Sasakwa at 12:00 noon on Saturday, June 12, 2021. Rev. Keith Hardwick was the officiating minister. Pallbearers were Virgil Moore, Kenny Moore, Doc Moore, Lonnie Barker, Calvin Hurd, and Napoleon Moore. Honorary pallbearers were Glenn Lawrence, Jerald Moore, Eddie Campbell, Jathan Dodson, and Gary Smith. Flower Bearers were Ja’Kitra Watson, Bridgett Moore, Selena Moore, Roxie Boyd, and Debra Moore.
