Darrel Dwight Overstreet

On December 16, 1974, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, a baby boy was born to Charles and Ruth Overstreet. They named him Darrel Dwight Overstreet; he was the joy of his mother’s life. Darrel’s education began in Tulsa Public Schools at Monroe Middle School and McClain High School. Darrel loved spending time with his family and had a smile that could brighten a room.

He also loved to preach the word of God to all he came in contact. Darrel was the kindest person you could ever meet, and he would give you the shirt off his back. On April 21, 2020, at 3:30 p.m., God saw Darrel was tired and put his loving arms around him and whispered, “Come with me.” Pain and tears filled our eyes as we watched him fade away. Although we loved him dearly, we could not make him stay. A golden heart stopped beating,

A golden heart stopped beating, and his hard-working hands were put to rest. God broke our hearts to prove to us that he always takes the best. Darrel was preceded in death by three of his brothers, Johnnie Overstreet, Randy Overstreet, and Gary Overstreet. Those who are left to cherish his memories are: his mother, Ruth Overstreet; father, Charles Overstreet Sr.; sisters, Carolyn Poafybitty and Sheretha Overstreet; brothers, Keith Overstreet, Shawn Overstreet, LaMonte Overstreet, and Charles Overstreet Jr.; grandma, Ruby Lucas; aunts; uncles; nieces; nephews; cousins; and a host of friends.

Officiating graveside services were held May 2, 2020 at Darrel’s final resting place Ebenezer Cemetery in IXL, Oklahoma under Pastor Cleophous Jones of Full Gospel Church, Boley, Oklahoma. Professional Services entrusted to Keith D. Biglow at 222 S. Pecan Street, Boley, Oklahoma. (www.biglowfunerals.com).
