Doris Leona Sumner Lewis

Doris Leona Sumner Lewis passed away on Saturday, January 22, 2022, at her residence in Yukon, surrounded by her daughters, sister, and granddaughter.

Doris was born May 15, 1933 to Grover and Iva Sumner in Hughes County, Oklahoma. She graduated Gerty High School, Class of 1951. She went on to graduate from OCCC and SNU in her later years.

She is survived by two daughters, Sandra Griffi n (Bert) of Cogar, and Brenda Pryor of Mustang; three grandchildren and their spouse: Laura and Nathan Wicker of Cogar, Ben and Charlcy Pryor of Stillwater, and Danny and Natasha Pryor of Mustang; four great-grandchildren and their spouses, Daegan and Tyler Peliti, Isaac Stover, and Lennon and Ari Pryor; four great-great-grandchildren, Leighton, Grayson, Jaxson, and Shiloh Peliti; two brothers and their spouses, Ernest and Sallie Sumner of Checotah, and Claude and Maggie Sumner of Okmulgee; two sisters, Loui Livingston of Ada, and Twilla Thorton and husband Jim of Ada.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilburn Lewis; and two brothers, Rex Sumner and C.B. Sumner.

Funeral services were held on Monday, January 31 st , 2:00 p.m. at Heritage Rock Church in Holdenville, with burial in the Non Cemetery, Non, Oklahoma. Mr. Claude Sumner was the offi ciating minister. Pallbearers were Ben Pryor, Danny Pryor, Isaac Stover, Nathan Wicker, Tyler Peliti, and Michael Thornton. Honorary pallbearers were Frank Sumner, Ernest Sumner, Don Morris, and Bert Griffi n.
