Edna Jackson of Holdenville, 72, affectionately known as ‘Nana’, passed away on Monday, November 15, 2021.

Edna was born May 24,1949, in Hanna, Oklahoma to the late Samuel (Nokowe) Jackson and Alice (Hill) Jackson.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Samuel (Nokowe) Jackson and Alice (Hill) Jackson; sisters Gladys (Jackson) Harjo and Geneva Jackson, and brother Dave Jackson.

She is survived by her ‘kids’: nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews that she helped raise.

She enjoyed playing Phase 10, and watching her nieces and nephews play basketball and softball. She was #1 sports fan for the family. She knew how to play every sport and position. She also enjoyed watching Walker Texas Ranger and anything Madea.

She worked all her life. She was employed by Muscogee Creek Nation, worked as a seamstress, and worked for G&H Decoy as a painter. She was a traditional woman. She loved to cook traditional food such as cvtvhakv, osofke, sour cornbread, and beans. She enjoyed camping and dancing at Pakvn-Tvlvhasse. She loved to see Weogufkee bunch come to the camp and eat supper. She enjoyed just being with family.

Funeral services will be Friday, November 19, 2021, 2:00 p.m. at Faith Baptist Church in Dustin, with Rev. Charles Mitchell officiating. Edna will be laid to rest at Gouge Family Cemetery east of Hanna. Pallbearers are Billy Ray Harley, Katcv Larney, J. D. Harley, Stormy Harjo, Sampson Lewis, and Jakoby Harjo. Honorary pallbearers are J. T., Victor, Cyrus, Boy, Wanblee, Sonnyboy, Chautan (Nokowe), Byran, Everett, Dave Jr, Aramus, Kylo, Geronimo, Aaron, Cheyahv, Hompv, Able, and Pakvn-Tvlvhasse members.

Wake Service will be Thursday, November 18, 2021, at 7:00 pm at the Faith Baptist Church in Dustin, OK. Viewing will be at Fisher Funeral Home, Wednesday, 4:00pm to 8:00pm and Thursday, 10:00am to 4:00pm.
