Geneva M. Green

Geneva M. Green passed away Sunday, June 23, 2019 at her home in Holdenville, Oklahoma at the age of

84.

Geneva was born May 22, 1935 in Holdenville to Ernest J Lester and Elizabeth Mize Lester.  Geneva attended Holdenville public schools.  She was a seamstress for Seamproof for many years and later attended Wes Watkins Vo-Tech and received her LPN certification. She married Detress Green January 20, 1952.  She was employed by CCA prison in Holden-ville.  

Geneva was a member of the Capitol Heights

Baptist Church.  She enjoyed gardening, sewing, quilting, crocheting, canning, going to church, teaching Sunday school and spending time with family and friends.  

Geneva is preceded in death by her parents and husband, Detress.  

She is survived by her sons Stanley Green and wife Cheryl of Holdenville, and Mark Green and fiancée Tahnee of Holdenville; seven grandchildren, Rozanna Dallas, Amie Cox, Bridget Bridger, Jessica Yates, Dustin Green, Josh Green and Erin Green; fourteen great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Wanda Christenberry of Ft Worth, Texas, and Elaine Blair of Holdenville; and numerous other relatives and friends.

Funeral service will be 11:00 AM Thursday, June 27th , at the Capitol Heights Missionary Baptist Church with Pastor Bill Crawford officiating. Interment will follow at Holdenville Cemetery.

Pallbearers are Josh Green, Steve Dallas, Jimbo Cox, Jerry Bridger, David Yates and Mike Green.  Honorary pallbearers are Gunner Dallas, Matthew Cox, Jacob Cox and Dustin Green.

Services are under the direction of Hudson-Phillips Funeral Home Holdenville, Oklahoma.
