Herschel Lee Allen, 52, of Ada, Oklahoma passed away Friday, December 24, 2021 in Ada.

Herschel was born on October 8, 1969 in Talihina, Oklahoma to Herschel and Leota (Alexander) Allen. He grew up around the Kullihoma and Ada areas, graduating high school in 1988.

When he wasn’t working, you could most likely find Herschel either watching a Dallas Cowboys or OU football game, working on some scratch off tickets, cooking amazing food for his family or probably the most out of these, spending time and spoiling his grandchildren that he loved so much. Anyone who knew ‘Hersh’ will remember his big smile, kind heart and of course, that infectious laugh that would eventually start the whole room in an uproar of laughter.

Herschel is preceded in death by his parents, Herschel and Leota Allen; one son, Jeremy Allen; and one grandson, Alias Wood.

He is survived by his wife, Georgia Allen; two sons, Christopher Allen and Jordan Walton; one daughter, Jessica Riddels; bonus children Anthony, Ashley, Holly, and Jimmie Wood, Callie Smith and Tyson Buck; two brothers, Harvey Alexander and Mike Alexander; two sisters, Retha Allen and Margaret Dupre; grandchildren Princess O’Neill, Gia Wood, Jett Brunson, Abbigail, Angel, Ava Wood, Hunter, Bentley, Paisley, Christopher, Matthew, Hayden, Dylan, and Colt; as well as a host of other family and friends who loved him dearly.

Funeral services were held at 10:00 AM, Wednesday, December 29 th , at the Hudson-Phillips Funeral Home Chapel in Holdenville, officiated by Bro. Jimmy Anderson. Interment followed at the Many Springs Baptist Church Cemetery in Holdenville, Oklahoma.

Pallbearers were Anthony Wood Jr., Jimmie Wood, Tyson Buck, Christopher Allen, and Jordan Walton. Honorary pallbearers were all of Herschel’s grandsons.
