Homegoing Celebration for Mother Maxine Winston

Mother Maxine Winston was born June 1, 1924 in Shilo, Oklahoma. She was the second child of twelve children. She met and married Henry Winston. To this union nine children were born. After her marriage, she became a devoted housewife. Mother Winston accepted Christ at an early age and served the Lord whole heartedly. She was known in her community as “Mother Winston,” a powerful prayer warrior.

Mother Winston departed this life on Thursday, January 17, 2019. God saw fit in His infinite wisdom to call His faithful servant home to glory.

She leaves to mourn her children: daughters, Betty Bovelle, Dr. Shirley T. Golden, Bernice Winston Jackson, Sherri Maxine Hicks, whom preceded her in death; son, Henry L. Winston (Bernadine), John H. Winston, Marvin D. Winston, Robert Winston (Taylor); her siblings include: Norma Headspeth, Shirley Spencer (Jimmy), Maydee Jones, Peter Haskell Rhodes (Shirley) , sisters-in-law, Wanda Rhoades and Ethyl Rhodes; a host of grandchildren, and many great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and man friends.

Services for Mother Winston were held February 2, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at Liberty Abundance Minis - tries in Midwest City, Oklahoma. Bishop Elmer G. Moten delivered the Eulogy. Interment following at Northfork Cemetery at Clear-view, Oklahoma under the directions of Temple and Sons Funeral Directors of Oklahoma City.
