Ira ‘Sonny’ Sherrin passes away

Ira ‘Sonny’ Denton Sherrin of Tecumseh, Oklahoma passed away Tuesday, July 9, 2019 at St. Anthony’s Hospital in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma at the age of 70.

Ira was born September 18, 1948 to James Parris and Betty Bagwell in Holdenville, Oklahoma.  He graduated from Maples High School.  Ira married Judy Cooper June 11, 1966 in Thornton, Colorado.  He enjoyed playing golf.

Ira was preceded in death by his parents.  

He is survived by his wife Judy Sherrin; daughters, Lisa Sherrin of Holdenville, and Pamela Venable and husband Buster of Holdenville; son, Michael Sherrin and wife Melissa of Gerty; brothers, James Sherrin and wife Alice of Shawnee, Mark Parris of Holdenville, and Stanley Parris of Canadian; 10 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and numerous other relatives and friends.

There will be a memorial service at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 13, 2019 at the First Baptist Church in Holdenville. Interment will be at Holdenville Cemetery. Honorary pallbearers are grandsons Ryan Florie, Derek Puckett, Mark Florie, Hayden Sherrin, Jason Johnson and Tyler Jarrett; and Ralph Sherrin.
