James Ray Underwood

James Ray Underwood II was born July 28. 1979 in Claremore, Oklahoma to James Ray Underwood and Debra Kay Dawson and passed from this life March 9, 2023 at the St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa at the age of 43 following an extended illness.

James was raised in the Okmulgee, Preston, and Wetumka areas and attended the local schools. As a young man he worked at Sonic Drive-In in Okmulgee, C-Oil Company in Wetumka, and as a laborer with Darrell Seeley in construction. James loved cooking, music, and playing with the kids in his family. He is remembered as a jokester and as a loving, generous man who would help anyone in need.

He was preceded in death by his mother Debbie Kay Owens.

Survivors include: five children, Rebekah Rhinehart and husband Dakota Williams of Dustin, and Salina, James III, Ryan, and Alyna Underwood, all of Weleetka; his father James Underwood and wife Shelly of Kentucky; twin brothers, Shane and Shaun Underwood of Okmulgee; four sisters, Faith Prince of Oklahoma City, and Amber Underwood, Brooke Underwood, and Valerie Baxter, all of Kentucky; his longtime partner, Lisa Jacobs of Weleetka; three grandchildren, Cattleya, Lilly, and Sage Williams of Dustin; along with several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Viewing and visitation will be at the Williamson Funeral Home in Weleetka on Friday, March 17, from 10:00 am to 8:00 pm. Funeral services will be Saturday, March 18 at 2:00 pm at the United Methodist Church in Weleetka with Rev. Da- vid Dunson, pastor, offi ciating.

Following the service on Saturday there will be a dinner at the Weleetka senior citizens center for family and friends.
