Jerry D. Davis passed away in Holdenville, Oklahoma on Sunday, April 20, 2025, at the age of 84.

Jerry is the son of Clyde ‘Doke’ Davis and Mildred (Westmoland) Davis, born on July 17, 1940, in Spaulding, Oklahoma. He was raised and attended school in Spaulding, graduating with the Class of 1958.

During his school years, in the Fall, Jerry would go to west Texas and work in the cotton gin.

Jerry married Nyoka Ward in 1962, and after living in Holdenville for a short time, they made their home in Spaulding, Oklahoma.

Farming/Ranching became a way of life. Jerry worked in the oil field as a roughneck and pumper. Jerry and Nyoka owned and operated their own business, Davis Hot Oil Company, for seventeen years. Jerry enjoyed his work and was in no hurry to retire.

In the late nineties, he helped with shutdowns of power plants for maintenance until he semi-retired. He retired from the oil field in December of 2024 and sold his cattle in January of 2025.

He loved fishing with his granddaughters, going on scenic drives with Nyoka to explore new towns, going on adventures while making memories with family and friends. He even went with friends on a few hunting trips.

He loved his horses and going to the horse races. He went on to enter a few of his own horses at Sallisaw and Ada.

Jerry’s life turned to the Lord, and he became an active member in 1993 at the Holdenville First Assembly of God Church. He taught Sunday School classes, served as a Deacon, and taught Wednesday night Bible Study. Jerry was called upon to hold communion at the last Wednesday Bible Study he held. He was looking forward to the message for Easter services. Jerry lived a long, full life filled with family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Doke and Mildred Davis, and one granddaughter, Jennifer McDonald.

He is survived by his wife of sixty-three years, Nyoka, of the home; son Kenny Davis (Diana) of Spaulding; daughter Tina Davis of Spaulding; three granddaughters Tasha Tate (Eric) of Homestead Florida, Amber Hensley of Spaulding, and Kylie Garner (Cody) of Holdenville; six great-grandchildren Gillian Garcia, Gracelyn Garcia, Hudson Fleming, Ty Tate, Colton Tate, and Cole Garner; two sisters, Bette Foran and Karen Scroggins (Larry), all of Holdenville; a brother, Jim D.
