Johnnie “Sue” McLoud passed away peacefully at home in Holdenville surrounded by her family on Wednesday, August 25, 2021. Sue was born October 21, 1942 in Pauls Valley, the third of six children born to Opal (Pelfry) and Kenneth Sims.

She married the love of her life, Dale McLoud on April 25, 1964. åThey lived the majority of their life together on their farm in Holdenville.

Sue was preceded in death by her parents, Kenneth and Opal Sims; brothers Kenneth Jr, Jimmy, Jerry, and Billy Don; and son Kevin McLoud.

Sue is survived by her husband Dale of the home; daughters Shellie Gammill of Holdenville, Erica Gaddis (Daniel) of Tulsa, and Cara Hardgrove of Perkins; grandchildren Whitney (Dillon) Coffman, Travis Gammill, Will Gammill, Sydney Gaddis, Avery Gaddis, Cody Hardgrove, and Luke Hardgrove; great-grandchildren Addison and Layton Coffman; sister Janice (Fred); sisters-in-law Cathy Sims, Marsha Sims, Joyce Hill, and Caroline Sims; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Sue received a BS in Elementary Education from East Central University and a Masters Degree in Reading from Oklahoma State University. Sue was an elementary teacher at Holdenville and New Lima and made a positive impact on the lives of many students in her long career. She enjoyed many hobbies including quilting, painting, pottery, sculpture, traveling, and gardening. Sue loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them on the farm or while traveling.

Due to COVID funeral services will be held graveside on Tuesday, August 31st , at 10:00 AM at the Holdenville Cemetery. Please social distance and follow CDC guidance to reduce the spread of illness.

Funeral services are under the direction of Phillips Funeral Home and viewing may be done prior to the service.
