Funeral services for Joyce Ann Bear were held Saturday, July 31, 2021 at 10:00 AM at the Tookparfka Baptist Church of Calvin, Oklahoma. Interment followed at the Calvin Cemetery. Wake services were held Friday, 6:00 – 8:00 PM at the Parks Brothers Funeral Home Chapel in Wetumka, Oklahoma.

Joyce Ann Bear left this world in Victory on July 28, 2021 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma at the age of 72. She was born September 22, 1948 in Talihina, Oklahoma to Jacob and Mamie (Bruner) Bear of Calvin, Oklahoma.

Joyce attended and graduated from Calvin Public Schools. Upon graduation, she and her cousin Abby left for Lawrence, Kansas to attend Haskell Indian Junior College. There, they both obtained their LPN License. She was employed at Valley View Hospital in Ada, Oklahoma for 35 years until her retirement. She attended Tvkpvfkv Missionary Baptist Church, basically growing up on the church grounds along with her siblings and cousins. Never a fondnessof public school, she still always pushed her nephews, nieces and church children to aspire in their educational endeavors. She loved to hear the fun facts a child always presented in their education. She served in her church VBS activities, Falls Creek and MSW Assemblies as volunteer nurse. She enjoyed hearing preaching and listening to gospel singing in English and Creek. Joyce enjoyed serving others and always willing to help. Her walk with the Lord was one of Faith, substance and Hope.

She is preceded in death by her parents.

Joyce leaves behind three sisters, Naomi Bear of Wewoka, Jacqueline Downing (Jay) of Ada and Rebecca Bear of Calvin; four brothers, Philip Bear (Elaine) of Calvin, James Bear of Calvin, Dennis Bear of Holdenville and Marvin Bear (Nicole) of Norman and numerous nieces and nephews who will miss her dearly.

Services were under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Home, Wetumka, Oklahoma.
