Julia Francine Tiger passed away Thursday, February 18, 2021, at St John’s Hospital in Tulsa, Oklahoma at the age of 60.

Julia was born January 20, 1961 in Sapulpa, Oklahoma to Kelly Tiger Sr., and Norean (Beaver) Tiger. Julia graduated from Booker T. Washington in Tulsa. She was a proud Hornet.

She received her Associates degree from NSU and TCC. Julia worked as an Administrative Assistant for the City of Tulsa Public Works. Julia spent her whole life in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She enjoyed singing church hymns, singing at the Big Drum, reading her bible and was a prominent lady singer of the Osage and Ponca people. Julia was very active in the In-Lon-Shka ceremonials where she served under many drum keepers in all three districts.

Julia is preceded in death by her parents, and brother Kelly Tiger Jr.

She is survived by her daughter Kelcey Tiger and JT Seaboy of Tulsa; sisters Kimberly Tiger of Holdenville, Belinda Buzzard of Claremore and Fallen; grandchil-dren Emilia, Leela Juliette, Myles, and Kellen; niece Aiden Cozad of Lawton; nephews Adrian Tiger of Pecan Grove, Johnathon Buzzard of Claremore, Cameron Cozad of Lawton, William Buzzard of Claremore, Joseph Buzzard of Claremore, and Gregg Lewis of Cromwell; special aunts Delores Good Eagle and Beverly Brownfield. Julia is also survived by numerous relations made over the years.

Wake service was held 5:00 to 7:00 pm on Monday February 22 nd , at Hudson-Phillips Funeral Home Chapel in Holdenville. Funeral service was 1:00 pm Tuesday, February 23 rd , at Hudson-Phillips Funeral Home with Pastor Eli McHenry assisted by Major McHenry and Son McHenry.

Pallbearers were Joseph Knight, William Shunkamolah, Matthew Shunkamolah, Charles Shunkamolah, David Shunkamolah, Harrison Hudgins, Eddie Jo Harris, Thomas Williston. Honorary pallbearers were Lark RealBird, Southern Thunder, Scott George, Kenny Bob Bighorse, and Russell TallChief.

A public Memorial Service will be at a later date.
