Katherine Dawn Brown passed away at her home north of Holdenville, Oklahoma on Saturday, July 31, 2021, at the age of 35 years.

Katherine was the daughter of Kenneth Brown and Deborah (Bruner) Clark, born on June 19, 1986 in Claremore, Oklahoma. She was brought up in the Holdenville area, and attended Yeager Head Start and Holdenville schools. She was a proud member of the Mvskoke Creek Nation and belonged to Fuswvlke (Bird Clan).

She was also an active member of Salt Creek Methodist Church. Some of her favorite things were cruising the streets, shopping, baking, and garage sales. She loved eating, especially ice cream, and spending time with her beloved companion, ‘Shorty’ Rodriguez. She is deeply loved, gone too soon, and will be deeply missed.

She is preceded in death by her father, Kenneth Brown, in 2013; paternal grandparents Robert Joe Brown and Lorene (Dunn) Brown; maternal grandparents George and Lizzie Brune; uncle Melvin Bruner; nephew Kaden ‘Bubba’ Briones.

She is survived by her companion of twenty years, Shorty Rodriguez, and daughter, Kaitlyn Rodriguez, both of the home; five sisters: Kimberly Brown (Pedro) Briones of Wewoka, Christy Clark (Sammy Wahweah) of El Reno, Sandy Clark of Tulsa, Megan Stone (Matt Cummings) of Claremore, and Tara Brown (Trevor) of Sapulpa; two brothers, Daniel Brown (Aliza) of Taholah WA, and Billy Brown (Kayla) of Sapulpa; nineteen nieces and nephews: Kacie, Kenzi, Kenny, Quinten, Cameron, Sissy, Mason, Monica, Amanda, Alyssa, Ethan, Miriah, Jacob, Lucas, Elsie Mae, Sanford, Nakota, Teagan, and Maquel; various other relatives, and many friends.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, August 4, 2021, 2:00 p.m. at Salt Creek Methodist Church, with Rev. Paul Fixico officiating, and Katherine was laid to rest at the Harjo Family Cemetery north of Holdenville. Pallbearers were Mason Yahola, Quinten Wahweah, Jeremi Cervantes, David California Hernandez, Massey Barnett, and Elle Harris.
