In Loving Memory Chynitha “Neat” Marie Allen

Chynitha “Neat” Marie Allen, born May 8, 1953, in Wichita, Kansas, passed away July 6, 2023, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Delbert Allen and her daughter, Brandi Allen. She is preceded in death by her parents, Edmond “Q.T.” and Betty Bell.
Neat was the secondborn child of Q.T. and Betty’s 10 children. She graduated from Wetumka High School in May 1971. Two months later, she was involved in an accident that left her paralyzed from the waist down. She spent nearly a year recovering in the hospital before returning home. Although the accident permanently changed her, it didn’t stop her from living her a life full of love and purpose for the next 50+ years. The next year, Neat and Delbert fell in love and got married on March 16, 1974. Delbert, already an Army Ranger and Vietnam Veteran, left the Army and re-enlisted in the Navy. They started their life as a married couple by moving half-way across the country, away from all their friends and family to San Diego, California, where Delbert was stationed. Neat stayed home at the naval base while Delbert was deployed on naval vessels all over the world. They kept in touch with the rare phone call but mostly by writing letters to each other every day, which they both kept all these years. Neat stayed busy entertaining family that would come to visit, making new friends, and babysitting any kid she could get her hands on. Neat has always loved children, she never missed an opportunity to feed any kid that wandered into her yard. That tradition continued after Delbert was stationed in San Francisco in the 1980s. In September 1986, Neat and Delbert’s lives changed when their daughter Brandi was born. Neat managed everything at home and raised Brandi while Delbert’s career kept him away for months at a time. After Delbert fought in his second war, Operation Desert Storm, he retired after 20-years of military service.

Neat was ready to come home to her family, so in May 1992 the Allen’s moved into the ‘big green house on Main Street’ in Wetumka, Oklahoma.
After moving, if she wasn’t at home, Neat was usually found zooming through the streets, on her way to visit someone in her family. Neat lived in Wetumka until 2021 when, for health issues, she moved to Oklahoma City with her daughter, Brandi.
b b 0b independent, and loved her family with everything she had. As a teen, she discovered her love of cooking when she worked with her mom who was a restaurant cook. She was a fantastic cook and loved to feed people, especially kids.
Neat loved to read, especially anything by Stephen King.
She was ridiculously skilled at crossword puzzles but bbbbbbb for hours.
Neat’s physical limits never stopped her even though she’d often have to work twice as hard to get half as far. The past two years, Neat fought even harder physically. She was hospitalized numerous times for weeks at a time for complex issues. On July 6, 2023, Neat decided herself bbbb,b She was unwavering in her decision and completely at peace. She passed away that evening peacefully, surrounded by her family and friends.
Her parents were Q.T. and Betty (Golden) Bell of Clearview formerly of Clearview, both deceased.
Her grandparents were the late Pete and Olivia Golden of Clearview.
A Celebration of her life was held at Barnes Friederich Funeral Home in Midwest City, Oklahoma on Saturday, July 29, 2023, at 4:00pm with a reception following.

She was the family scheduler; she kept track of everyone’s birthdays, she’d call to make sure you were up in time for doctor’s appointments and knew everyone’s work schedules. She was never far from the phone, knew all the family gossip but couldn’t keep it a secret. She was an avid fan of reality TV, The Young and the Restless, The Voice, and Naked and Afraid. Her ideal outdoor temperature was 100 degrees, and she believed all wind was cold, no matter the temperature of the air. She hated bugs, especially ticks and mosquitos and would
