Lonnie Smith was born on November 15, 1934 to Lee and Dorothy Smith in Boley, Oklahoma. He was the younger of two children. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Lonnie attend Boley Schools. After completion, he then dedicated over 30 years of hard work as a mechanic at Wilson Packing Company, now known as Wilson Foods. He also ran his own lawn business for 50 years.

He loved fishing and gardening. He locally sourced all his vegetables to use for the family meals. Many of the produce that came from his garden were given to neighbors, extended family, and friends.

Lonnie married Mildred Toles of Clearview, the love of his life, in June 1961 and to this union three children were born. Lonnie died peacefully at home on Thursday, August 27, 2020 at the age of 86 years.

He leaves to cherish his memory two sons, Lonnie Jr. and Ronnie; one daughter, Ivonia; three grandchildren: Tamar Coleman, Rhonda Smith and Lonnie “Trey” Smith III, all of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; a host of great-grandchildren; sister-in-law; Velma Bess of Tulsa, Oklahoma; nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
