Reflections of Life On April 29, 1961, a beautiful baby girl was born to Freddie Mae and Clifford Owens. Her mother named her Sherri Annette – a beautiful name for a beautiful girl.

Sherri grew up in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Early on she accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior. She was committed to the Lord and was later baptized at the Church of the Living God. Growing up, Sherri attended John Burroughs head start, Robert Frost Grade School, and McLain High School where she was a proud alum. Sherri became a barber and cosmetologist later in life. Later in life, Sherri joined Metropolitan Baptist Church where she gleefully served.

A servant by nature, Sherri served in many capacities. She worked at Tulsa Juvenile Detention, Lloyd E. Raider, Tulsa Boy's Home, Langston Hughes A c a d e m y , Gilcrease Museum, and several other local businesses. Sherri loved to cook. She is more famously known for her German Chocolate cakes and her rum cakes.

Sherri is survived by her children Charles Owens, Cordney Owens (Jerrica), and Marva Blades; her mother Freddie Mae Owens; her grandson Camryn Owens; and a host of nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
