Margaret Siegrist passed away Tuesday, March 16, 2021, at OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City at the age of 71.

Margaret was born August 27, 1949 in Claremore, Oklahoma to Nathan Buck, Sr. and Alice McCosar Buck. She graduated from Holdenville High School in 1968. Margaret married Jackie Siegrist Sr. on January 25, 1975. She is a member of Many Springs Baptist Church in Holdenville. She attended Okmulgee Tech and Oklahoma School of Banking. Margaret received certifications in Early Childhood Development in several specialized areas from OU, Texas Tech and the CDA National Credentialing Program.

She was a teacher for the Holdenville Public School system, Twin Rivers Head Start, and Creek Nation Child Development Center where she retired as Site Supervisor over the whole program. Margaret loved singing southern gospel with her sister Leona and two cousins who were like her sisters, Jeanette and Mablene, in a group called Lakeside. They started singing in 1962, when she was 11 years old, traveling all over Oklahoma on Saturday night and Sunday afternoon. Margaret sang tenor. She enjoyed sharing God’s word, singing her favorite song, “What A Day That Will Be”, and her favorite food was pork chops.

Margaret is preceded in death by her parents; husband of 45 years, Jackie Siegrist Sr.; siblings Ida McCosar, Vernon (Sungie) Buck, Jake Walter Buck, Raymond Buck, Buckner (Sock) Buck, Jeanette Buck, Otis Buck, Nathan (Wahoo) Buck, Robert (Blackie) Buck, Johnson (Corney) Buck, Franklin Douglas Buck, and Leona Lou Buck.

She is survived by her son, Jackie Siegrist Jr.; granddaughter Brooklyn Rose of Holdenville; step-daughter, Kelly Farrow of Henryetta; grandson Dustin Crabtree and wife Kelsey; and great-grandson Tatum Crabtree of Henryetta. Margaret is survived by numerous other family and friends.

Viewing will be from 4:00 to 7:00pm Thursday, March 18 th , and 8:00 am to 7:00 pm Friday, March 19 th , at Hudson-Phillips Funeral Home in Holdenville, Oklahoma.

Funeral service will be 2:00 pm Saturday, March 20 th , at the First Baptist Church in Holdenville with Rev Jimmy Anderson officiating assisted by Bill Robinson. Interment will follow at McCosar Family Cemetery in Holdenville.

Pallbearers are Anthony (Buddy) Wood, TreBob Buck, Chris Lovato, Will Buck, Matthew Jones, Otis Buck, Mike Carlson and TJ Boswell. Honorary pallbearers are Richard Buck, Mitch Buck, Robert Buck Jr., Ty Whitebird, Dean Goforth, Howard Stud Walton, Eddie Gooden and Artie Skupien.

Services are under the direction of Hudson-Phillips Funeral Home, Holdenville, Oklahoma.
