Mary Lou Smith

Mary Lou Smith a longtime resident of Weleetka, Ok passed this life on January 10, 2021 at the age of 84. Born August 13, 1936 on Tuskahoma, OK to Jim and Bertha Dill.

Mary Lou was very active in sports during her High School years. She ran track where she qualified to go to Houston in the broad jump. As a freshman in high school she played as a Guard on a basketball team that were state runner ups and during her sophomore year she won the gold medal in state competition in the broad jump. Her hobbies were water skiing and playing canasta. She made friends real easy and had the Weleetka School year book dedicated to her while she was the secretary there for many years. Mary Lou loved her grandchildren, never missing an athletic event and loved the Weleetka Ladies Outlaw softball team and coaching at times, making as many home games as she could.

She married WL Smith on December 22, 1954 in Savanah, OK. He preceded her in death and a brother Gene Dill. Survived by her son Mike Smith of Weleetka, OK Grandsons: Cole Smith of Coweta and Chase Smith of Weleetka Great-grandchildren: Peyton and Tucker Smith of Coweta Memorials can be made in Memory of Mary Lou to the Weleetka High School Athletic Fund. Graveside service will be 1:00 pm, Thursday, January 14, 2021 at the Hillcrest Cemetery, Weleetka, OK under the direction of the Rogers Funeral Home. Pallbearers are Jay Wade, Phillip Burden, Chris Recter, Ronnie Scrutchfield, Galand Pennington, Cole Smith and Chase Smith. Honorary will be Payton Elizabeth Smith and Tucker Dylan Smith.
